Lasix (furosemide) is a medication routinely used to prevent lung bleeding in horses. This bleeding is usually minor but can occur in the future. Lasix works by relaxing the muscles in the blood vessels that supply the lungs, reducing the pressure in the blood vessels and allowing the blood to flow more easily.
It’s important to remember that this is just a medication and it should only be taken on the advice of a healthcare professional. If you have any questions about using Lasix or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your veterinarian.
